Wood Fencing 

In order to build a wooden fence, three steps are required: first, the posts are evenly spaced and buried; second, the horizontal members, or "rails," are attached to the posts; and third, the vertical members, or "pickets," are attached to the rails. Depending on the type of wood fencing you select, the picket attachment pattern varies.

Our pressure-treated wood fence system components are made of materials that can survive years of exposure to the outdoors. You have a few different style options to pick from, such as wood privacy, wood board-on-board, and wood shadowbox, among others. Wood Board On Board Fence

A board-on-board fence's vertical pickets are coupled by either lapping their two adjacent neighbors or by being directly fastened to the fence's horizontal rails. Every odd picket in the pattern is nailed directly to the rails, while every even picket is secured on top of the odd ones. This approach absolutely eliminates visibility gaps in each area and is totally private.

Wood Shadowbox Fence

The shadowbox fence design provides for some visibility, wind flow, and seclusion. A wooden shadowbox fence section is fully private when viewed directly, but when viewed from an angle, there is a little space between each opposing side of the fence panel. Shadowbox uses a pattern of odd and even pickets, with each odd picket being on one side of the fence panel and each even picket being on the opposite side, similar to board-on-board.

Wood Privacy Fence

The simplest style of wooden fence to build is a privacy fence. Each picket is simply nailed next to one another on the rails in a straight line. This design is ideal for those who prefer a fence with a completely opaque surface over a board-on-board fence but still desire complete seclusion.
